Symptoms of advanced or terminal failure
- ✕Catastrophic loss of oil pressure with red oil light
- ✕Engine cuts out and won't restart
- ✕Loud bang or clatter from under the bonnet
- ✕Engine turns over but won't fire (timing has jumped)
- ✕Heavy white smoke and steam from coolant getting into oil galleries

- Stop driving. Each additional mile multiplies the damage.
- Have the vehicle recovered to our Canterbury workshop (we can recommend a recovery firm).
- We'll inspect, photograph and give you a fixed quote within 24 hours — repair, rebuild or replace.
- If the engine is salvageable, we get on with it. If it isn't, we'll source a low-mileage replacement at trade prices.
